Description
This is a very hard to find piece by Mottahedeh, Portugal.
The pattern is ‘Bird of Paradise’ which was produced during the 1980’s. The style (type of bird) on this piece is the Lesser Superb Bird of Paradise.
The piece is made of white porcelain in a traditional shell shape with gilded edges and detailing at the ‘handle’. The center of the shell features a bird flapping his wings while perched on a branch.
The piece is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or major wear. There is some light wear to the gilding (consistent with age and use), but nothing major.
The dish measures 6.25″ x 5.6″ wide & 2.2″ deep (at the tallest point).
